Recipe
A recipe is a set of instructions that describes how to prepare or make something, especially a dish of prepared food. The earliest known written recipes.

1. What’s the best way to melt chocolate?

Chop it (or use chips) and melt in the microwave for 30 second intervals, stirring each time until completely smooth.

2. Why does my pound cake deflate when I take it out of the oven?

Possible reasons: Over mixing the batter, irregular oven heat, opening the oven door during baking, or expired baking powder.

3. How long does it take to preheat an oven?

All ovens vary, but on average about 15 minutes to preheat to 350 and 20 minutes to preheat to 400.

4. Are cake flour and all-purpose flour the same thing?

No. Cake flour’s lower protein means less gluten is formed as you mix the batter together. Less gluten formation equates to a softer, fluffier texture.

  1. Cake flour = low protein = less gluten = softest texture = great for sponge cake
  2. All-purpose flour = medium protein = moderate gluten = suitable for anything
  3. Bread flour = high protein = more gluten formation = hardest texture = great for bread

5. How do you know if steak is cooked enough?

This method is very simple, as all you have to do is press the outside center of your steak with your finger or tongs to judge the degree of doneness. If your steak is very soft, it means that your steak is undercooked. If it is firm, then you have a well done steak.

6. How do I make sure chicken is cooked all the way through?

For properly cooked chicken, if you cut into it and the juices run clear, then the chicken is fully cooked. If the juices are red or have a pinkish color, your chicken may need to be cooked a bit longer.

7. I bought fresh cake yeast, and can’t use it all. Can I freeze it?

In general, I do not recommend freezing the fresh cake yeast. However, some home bakers are able to freeze the yeast with success. The yeast must be wrapped in plastic wrap and/or foil and kept as airtight as possible.

8. Is it OK to eat eggs every day?

The science is clear that up to 3 whole eggs per day are perfectly safe for healthy people. Summary Eggs consistently raise HDL (the “good”) cholesterol. For 70% of people, there is no increase in total or LDL cholesterol?
