DELICIOUS!! Korean Rabokki (Tteokbokki + Ramen) Recipe

What is Rabokki?

Rabokki (라볶이) is a Korean portmanteau for Ramyeon (라면, instant ramen noodles) and Tteokbokki (떡볶이, Korean spicy rice cakes). It is a popular dish to many Koreans, particularly amongst teenagers. It gives spicy, delicious and addictive flavor and is quite a filling food at a relatively cheap price.

Vietnamese rice paper2 to 3
Mozarella stick2 to 3
Chopped green onion
Sausage2
Fish cake 어묵
Gochujang sauce 고추장 (Korean Chili Sauce)2 tbsps
Soy sauce1 tbsp
Sugar2 tbsps
Chilli powder
Ketchup2 tbsps
Water1/2 bowl
Rabokki ingredients

RABOKKI SAUCE

Put 2 tbsps korean chilli sauce in a small bowl.

2. Then, add 1 tbsp of soy sauce.

3. 2 tbsps of sugar

4. Chilli powder (you can adjust the amount of it) + 2 tbsps of ketchup

5. mix them gently

‘TTEOBOKKI’

1. Soak 2 to 3 slices vietnamese rice papers in warm water for 5 seconds.

2. Put the Mozarella cheese stick on the rice paper and roll it up.

3. Cut them.

1. Prepare some chopped green onion & sausage

START!

1. Pour the oil in the hot pan

2. Fried the green onions & sausage

3. Pour the rabokki sauce and add half bowl of water

4. Add some fish cake

5. After that, put the cooked ramen & ‘tteokbokki” into the pot

6. Finally, sprinkle some white sesame seeds on it and it’s ready to serve!!

What is different about Korean ramen?

Korean ramen is quite different from Japanese, but if you see the word ‘ramen’ in Korea, it refers to the Japanese fresh noodles dish. However, ramyeon is much more popular in Korea and refers to packaged instant ramen noodles, usually a lot spicier than it’s Japanese counterpart.

Is Tteokbokki halal?
